  • Joggins Fossil Cliffs– On July 7, 2008, “The Joggins Fossil Cliffs, (Canada)” was inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The announcement from the Province of Nova Scotia is here.

    Dr. John H. Calder, of the NS Dept. of Natural Resources, has written a paper entitled “Coal Age Galapagos: Joggins and the Lions of Nineteenth Century Geology”. The paper was published in Atlantic Geology42, 37-51 (2006) and available for free online.

    The NS Museum also has material relating to the Joggins Fossil Cliffs and to other fossil sites throughout Nova Scotia.
