Abstracts are invited for talks at the upcoming conference on the Science and History of Sable Island including the marine environment that surrounds and maintains the island. The Friends of Sable Island Society will hold this conference and it is open to experts and the general public. The Nova Scotian Institute of Science and Dalhousie University School for Resource and Environmental Studies are co-sponsors of the conference. On December 1, 2013 Sable Island National Park Reserve became officially protected under Canada’s National Parks Act as its 43rd National Park. This is expected to be the first of a potential series of conferences related to the appreciation and management of Sable Island.
Please see the attached Call for Abstracts for details. Note that the deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to the end of the first week in January 2015.
